Rumore (July-August 1998)
The situation is pretty clear.In the U.S. something is happening!California (we already talked about this) is the main focus ,the starting point of this new scene.And now ,System of a Down debut album.An important sign (once again) to see that in rock there are still some creative ways to express something.Some bands (you know the names) are takin' rock beyond itself ,refreshing it and makin' it once again more interesting.System of a Down are ,absolutely ,among those bands.A granitic guitar sound that comes from hardcore ,destroyed in many little pieces and born again in a defton-ish wall of sound.Post-metal vocals that ,although his white roots ,reminds of hip-hop and hardcore.Listen to War ,the best exemple to see that ,after the Deftones ,there is still a vital vine in metal.Don't miss it for anything in the world.
